To understand the full reality of life with Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA), Lilly created RA Matters, a first-of-its kind traditional and social media survey of over 6,200 people across eight countries.

The RA Matters project created by Eli Lilly aims to discover what people living with rheumatoid arthritis across eight countries truly feel about life with the condition.

Using innovative data collection, engaging communities through traditional and online means, RA Matters explored different aspects of life with RA – adding important new perspective and challenging perceptions.

To inform RA Matters, a brief qualitative survey commissioned by Lilly shed light on the current struggles, aspirations and what matters most to people who live with RA. The findings from this initial survey formed the basis of RA Matters and the types of questions people living with RA felt were important to address.

Of the 6,208 participants in the RA Matters survey, 5,400 were people who had been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis (RA), and 808 were rheumatologists or healthcare professionals (HCPs) that treat RA. The survey was carried out between November 4, 2016 and February 13, 2017, from eight participating countries (listed below). RA Matters is supporting people with RA to have a stronger voice and ensure what they want counts for more in crucial decisions and discussions about their condition.
